Alexander Graham Bell attributed his good health to drinking distilled water. Yet, there are others who claim it causes mineral loss. I wasn’t sure who to believe until distilled water nearly cost me my teeth!

It all started when a nutritionist recommended I drink distilled water. At the time, I figured it couldn’t hurt. After all, my grandma always distilled her water and she lived to be 93! I even recall having to distill my well water a decade ago, to avoid contaminants in the ground from all the chemicals used in nearby orchards.

When I told my nutritionist about it, she said she’s never seen that happen with any of her other clients. Perhaps that’s why the debate rages on. Maybe distilled water is fine for some people and not for others.

Since I’m evidently one of the others, I put the distiller back in storage with a grateful good riddance. Then, I got busy researching how to re-mineralize my teeth.

Undoing the Damage

Along with drastically reducing foods high in phytic acid, I ate lots of mineral-rich vegetables and consumed…
